Ever wanted to learn Tai Chi but found it tricky to make a weekly class? You're not the only one. By the end of the day, your brain will be fried and you'll understand why Tai Chi is classed as 'aerobic exercise' (yes really, all that benefit without even breaking a sweat!), but you'll also have the warm glow of achievement for completing an entire Tai Chi form (sequence) that you can practice whenever you want - it only takes 5 minutes to run through from beginning to end. Tai Chi is the skill and practice of finding comfort and relaxation in body, heart and mind. Obviously, any skill worth learning takes decades to master, but for most people the first step is giving it a go and seeing if its for you. The day is open to complete beginners and those with some experience.
Complete beginners: by the end of this one day workshop, a complete beginner will have an understanding of all the major principles that make Yang Style Tai Chi unique; a set of warm up exercises to practice at home; an overview of a short 20 move choreographed 'form'.
Continuers: if you're already at a beginners class with us it's a perfect way to accelerate your learning for those of you wanting to fill in some missing sections, refine some details or simply study the form from a new perspective. That way, as you continue in your weekly classes, your learning will be another layer of detail and skill deeper.
