Where Tai Chi is the art of balance and harmony, Qigong is the art of health and happiness. It forms the foundation of many modern practices, although they often miss the depth and detail available from this ancient art. Tried and tested over thousands of years, Qigong is effective for aiding the management of many health issues from diabetes to cancer recovery, it is also effective as a preventative and is a common exercise in China from middle age upwards to slow the aging process.
This term we will be studying the Zhang Organ Set which regulates and harmonises the major organs and meridians of the body. This set is excellent as a general tonic for the immune system and excellent to do throughout the year to strengthen your constitution and relieve stress. In addition we will also be working on the lower body to strengthen and develop qi flow through a balance of body and mind through a series of meditative qigong.
These exercises can be adapted for seated practice and are therefore accessible to most ages and levels of fitness. Qigong is a very effective health practice, if you are planning to use it as an aid to a specific health issue please contact us on 01273 239054 beforehand to discuss how we can help. |
